Ideas to Celebrate a “Pandemic Halloween” Safely!

If your kiddos are like my son, they spend weeks obsessing over this year’s costume and fantasizing about getting a substantial haul of Halloween candy.  This year’s festivities will definitely look different as we continue to follow CDC safety rules and restrictions during this pandemic.

Sooo…how can we create a memorable Halloween during this crazy pandemic??

Here’s an awesome tradition that can involve everyone in the family… “Booing” your friends and neighbors!  What a great idea!  Attach these delightful “You’ve Been Booed” ghost tags to a container filled with tempting treats; candy, decor, or gift cards all available at Target!  Also included is a door hanger for the recipient to show others that they have been booed!  It’s an unexpected surprise that is sure to delight and makes it easy to celebrate in a safe way!

Everyone loves Trick or Treating!  How can you enjoy this age-old tradition in a safe, yet fun way this Halloween?  Another spooky idea would be these “Eat this if you Dare…” chocolate bar wrappers! The Hershey’s 1.55 oz bar fits perfectly!  It comes with a matching sign, so all you have to do is set up a table at the end of your driveway and you can watch all the revelers happen by for their treat from a safe distance.  I love to “ooh and ah at all the creative costumes.  Turn on some music and you can have a Monster Mash dance party to get into the spirit, but still follow those recommended social distancing safety rules for Halloween!

Or, are you looking for a non-candy idea for your safe Halloween treats or for your Trunk or Treat?  These charming party favor tags, “Stay Bright this Halloween Night” or  “A Little Light for Your Halloween Night” are a wonderful idea!  Simply insert bracelet glow sticks or attach to a glow stick necklace or lanyard. Glow sticks can be found at Dollar Tree, Target, or Walmart.  You are going to get “glowing” reviews!

Do you know a deserving teacher, neighbor, co-worker or friend?  Here’s another idea to give them a pick-me-up safely this Halloween. These darling Witch’s Brew tags can be attached to a coffee drink like a Pumpkin Spice Latte, or something a bit stronger…my favorite fall brewski is Samuel Adams Octoberfest or Jack-O Pumpkin Ale.  It’s a surefire way to spread some safe Halloween fun!

Take time to celebrate this fun fall holiday with your family…dress up, decorate your home, carve a pumpkin, tell ghost stories or watch a scary movie together!  I hope everyone has a safe, yet festive Halloween.
